Peaches The Sleepy Amigurumi Kitty




Materials:
*1 skein Sugar’n Cream 4ply cotton yarn in Tea Rose
*Small amount of Patons Brilliant 3ply yarn in Black Dazzle for facial details

Crochet Hook:
3.00mm

Extras:
*Stitch marker
*Poly-fill
*Yarn needle

Finished Measurements:
4 inches long

Abbreviations used in this pattern:
ch chain
sc single crochet
sts stitchs
dc double sc
tr treble crochet
dec decrease a stitch (*insert hook into next st, yarn over, draw up a loop* twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.)
*repeat directions inside * as many times as indicated

A Note On Gauge: The crochet fabric needs to be tight, so if you change yarn weight, make sure you use a hook size that is at least 2 sizes smaller than the label of the yarn calls for.


The pattern is worked in continuous rounds. DO NOT join rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of your rounds.

Head
With body color create a slip ring. Sc to secure circle, then 6 sc in ring. (6)
Round 1 2sc in each sc. (12)
Round 2*2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc* around (18)
Round 3 *2sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (24)
Round 4 *2sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (30)
Rounds 5-8 sc in each sc around (30)
Round 9 *1 dec, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (24)
Round 10 *1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (18)
Round 11 *1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (12)
Stuff the head firmly. Next, embroider on the face.
Round 12 *1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (8)
Leave a long length of yarn and weave through the stitches of the last round. Pull tight to close up hole and weave in ends to finish off.

Ears Make two
Ch4
Row 1 sc in first sc, hdc, dc, tr in next sc, dc, hdc in next sc, sc in last sc.
Sew the ear onto the head.

Body
With body color create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6)
Round 1 2 sc in each sc (12)
Round 2 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc* around (18)
Rounds 3 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts * around (24)
Round 4 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (30)
Rounds 5 – 10 sc in each sc around (30)
Round 11 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (24)
Rounds 12 – 13 sc in each sc around (24)
Stuff the body.
Round 14 *1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (18)
Rounds 15 – 16 sc in each sc around (18)
Sew the head onto the body and weave in loose ends to finish off.

Tail
With body color create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6)
Round 1 2 sc in each sc (12)
Round 2 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc* around (18)
Rounds 3 – 5 sc in each sc around (18)
Round 6 *1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (12)
Rounds 7 – 10 sc in each sc around (12)
Stuff the tail.
Round 11 dec six times around (6)
Rounds 12 - 19 sc in each sc around (6)
Sew the tail on to the bottom of the body, then, wrap it around the front so the tip of the tail rests by the kitty’s head. Tack the tail to the body along its length so that it stays in place. Weave in loose ends to finish off.
