Free Amigurumi Pattern! Dim Bulb

Dim Bulb Amigurumi Pattern


Materials:*1 skein of Peaches and Cream 4ply yarn in yellow for bulb
*1 skein Lion Brand Cotton in Stone for screw base
*Small length of black yarn for facial details

Crochet Hook:
3.00mm

Extras:
*Stitch marker
*Poly-fill
*Yarn needle
*One pair of 15mm safety eyes

Finished Measurements:
3 ½ inches tall

Abbreviations used in this pattern:
ch chain
sc single crochet
sts stitchs
dc double sc
dec decrease a stitch (*insert hook into next st, yarn over, draw up a loop* twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.)
*repeat directions inside * as many times as indicated

A Note On Gauge:
The crochet fabric needs to be tight, so if you change yarn weight, make sure you use a hook size that is at least 2 sizes smaller than the label of the yarn calls for.

Pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of your rounds.

Bulb
With bulb color create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6 sts)
Round 1 2 sc in each sc around. (12)
Round 2 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc* around (18)
Round 3 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (24)
Round 4 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (30)
Rounds 5 – 9 sc in each sc around
Round 10 1 dec, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (24)
Round 11 *1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (18)
Rounds 12 sc in each sc around (18)
Place eyes between rounds 8 and 9 and space them 5 stitches apart. Secure the eyes with safety backs.
Round 13 sc in each sc around (18)
Round 14 *1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (12)
Place mouth. To create mouth, tie a large knot in the end of a 4 inch length of black yearn. Thread the yarn onto yarn needle. Insert the needle into the bulb and come out between rounds 11 and 12 a stitch to the side of the left eye. Insert the needle back through the bulb on the same round one stitch to the right of the right eye. Tie a large knot on the inside of the bulb to hold the smile in place. Make sure you are stuffing the bulb as you go.
Rounds 15 – 16 sc in each sc around (12)
At the last st of round 16, change to the yarn color you are using for the screw part of the bulb.
Rounds 17 -20 sc in each sc around (12)
Round 21 *1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (8)
Weave end of yarn through the last 8 stitches and pull closed. Weave in all loose ends to finish off.
