Butterfly Creature Amigurumi




Materials:
*1 skein Red Heart Luster Sheen 2ply yarn in Dk Mulberry
*1 skein Patons Brilliant 3ply yarn Gold Glow
*1 skein Patons Brilliant 3ply yarn in Black Dazzle
*1 skein Patons Brilliant 3ply yarn in White Twinkle

Crochet Hook:
2.00mm

Extras:
*Stitch marker
*Poly-fill
*Yarn needle
*One pair of 6mm safety eyes

Finished Measurements:
3 ½ inches tall

Abbreviations used in this pattern:
ch chain
sc single crochet
sts stitchs
dc yarn over, insert hook in st and pull up loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops on hook
hdc Yarn over, insert hook in sc and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook
dec decrease a stitch (*insert hook into next st, yarn over, draw up a loop* twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.)

Tip-
Is 2ply yarn to hard on your hands? This pattern works up larger and just as cute using 4ply yarn and a 3.00mm hook.

The pattern is worked in continuous rounds. DO NOT join rounds. Use a stitch marker to mark the end of your rounds.

Head/Body
With body color create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6)
Round 1 2 sc in each sc (12)
Round 2 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc* around (18)
Rounds 3 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts * around (24)
Round 4 *2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (30)
Round 5 sc in the next 8 sts, bobble sc*, sc in the next 13 sts, bobble sc, sc in the next 7 sts. (30)
Rounds 6 – 10 sc in each sc around (30)
Round11 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next 3 sts* around (24)
Place eyes on head one row down from the antennae and two or three sts toward the center of the face. Secure eyes with safety backs.
Rounds 12 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (18)
Stuff the head.

Lay the doll flat and find the middle of the body. Place a stitch marker. Count 12 stitches around from the marker and place a second stitch marker. There should be 11 stitches on each side of the markers. Stuff the body. Stitch until you reach the first marker and then stitch threw both stitches with markers at one time. This will form equal legs.
Rounds 26 – 29 sc in each sc around (12)
Stuff the legs as you go. Use a pencil eraser and small tuffs of stuffing to help push stuffing into the legs.
Rounds 30 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (9)
Rounds 31– 33 sc in each sc around (9)
Round 34 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (6)
Leave a long length of yarn and weave through the stitches of the last round. Pull tight to close up hole and weave in ends to finish off.

Second Leg
Join anywhere on the back of the body along the opening for the second leg.
Rounds 1 – 4 sc in each sc around (12)
Stuff the legs as you go. Use a pencil eraser and small tuffs of stuffing to help push stuffing into the legs.
Rounds 5 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next 2 sts* around (9)
Rounds 6– 8 sc in each sc around (9)
Round 9 * 1 dec, 1 sc in next sc* around (6)
Leave a long length of yarn and weave through the stitches of the last round. Pull tight to close up hole and weave in ends to finish off.

Arms (make two)
With body color create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6)
Rounds 1 – 8 sc in each sc around.
DO NOT STUFF THE ARMS. Sew to the body. Weave in loose ends to finish.

Wings (make two)
With silver create a slip ring. Sc in ring to join. Sc 6 additional times in ring. (6)
Round 1 2 sc in next sc, 2 hdc in next sc, 2dc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc (12) On last sc change to gold.
Round 2 2 sc in first 2 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, 2 dc n next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last 3 sts (24)
On the last sc change to black.
Rounds 3 2 sc in each sc around. (48)
Sew the wings to the back. Only attach wings by sewing through four stitches of the wing so that the wings will move freely.
